Veterinary Care Assistant
Aniwell Vets are looking for a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic person to join our friendly team as a Veterinary Care Assistant.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be supporting both our clinical and reception teams — helping ensure every client and pet receives the best possible care and experience.
You'll provide cover for our reception team during holidays and sickness (where possible), so you should feel confident engaging with the public. Reception duties include greeting clients, booking appointments, answering phone calls, and taking payments after consultations. Full training will be provided, and our team will be there to support you every step of the way.
When you're not on reception, you'll be working alongside our amazing nurses and vets, helping with the day-to-day running of the practice — from patient care to keeping our facilities clean and welcoming. For the right person, there's even the opportunity for nurse training in the future.
About Us
At Aniwell Vets, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality veterinary care in a warm, supportive, and welcoming environment. Our close-knit team works together to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners, and we're proud of the compassionate care we deliver every day.
The Perfect Fit
We'd love to hear from you if you:
*Have a genuine love of animals and enjoy helping people
*Can work across both of our clinics when needed
*Are flexible with shift times to help cover reception holidays
*Bring a positive attitude and a team-focused approach
Previous experience as a Veterinary Care Assistant or in a veterinary reception role would be a bonus, but it's not essential - what's most important is your enthusiasm, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Your Shift Pattern
This is a full-time position working a variety of shifts across a three-week rolling rota. You'll also be part of our 1 in 4 Saturday morning rotation, working between our two clinics in Kinson and Alderney.
In addition to a competitive salary, you will benefit from:
*6.6 weeks annual leave
*Additional annual leave for your birthday which will be added to your holiday allowance
*Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity/ paternity/ adoption/ shared parental and surrogacy pay
*Cycle to work scheme
*Initiatives focused on employee wellbeing
*Non-accidental injury support
*Learning and development opportunities via the IVC Evidensia Academy
*Pawsome Benefits - reward gateway giving discounts and cashback with 100's of retailers
*Pension scheme
*Discounted staff pet care
