Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

The Opportunity

We're recruiting for apprentices to join our Health, Safety and Environment training programme. This is a 2-year apprenticeship which offers the opportunity to gain a Level 3 Safety, Health and Environmental Technician qualification whilst spending time in different departments at Sizewell C. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you'll be able to join the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at TechIOSH level.

What You Will Be Doing

Here at Sizewell C, you'll support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal or external stakeholders. You will assist to develop, review, and check the implementation of safe systems of work. Engage with all aspects of the organisation to support the embedment of a culture that everyone can return to their family and friends unharmed every day, whilst also protecting and enhancing the global land, air and water resources for future generations.

Your Work Location

Whilst you will be based at one of our Sizewell C offices in Suffolk (Leiston or Orwell Logistics Park, Ipswich), you may also be required to travel to other locations to support other business units and to expand your knowledge and experience of the Nuclear Industry.

The delivery of your Level 3 Safety, Health and Environmental Technician will be remote learning, but you may be expected to travel to Penshaw View, Sunderland.

Who You Are

• You will have, five GCSEs in the 9 to 4 range including English and Maths.

• A genuine interest in the Nuclear Industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference.

• We will need you to be open minded, flexible and have an agile way of thinking to succeed in a dynamic fast paced project environment.

• Having a strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas.

• Effective interpersonal skills are key, as well as being able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character.

• Effective communication skills will be required to manage your stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.

The Sizewell C team is one of the most exciting and largest new megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy.
