Job Title – Accounts Assistant

Rate - £13 per hour (negotiable)

Contract – 3 months (temp to perm)

Location – Milton Keynes

Working Pattern – Hybrid, 2 days a week onsite. (Wednesdays and Thursdays)

Job Responsibilities

  • Process purchase invoices efficiently while ensuring accurate matching to purchase orders.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of bank payments, ensuring all transactions are ready for senior approval and client release.
  • Support the reconciliation of bank accounts by clearing and matching payments within the system, maintaining up-to-date records at all times.
  • Resolve both internal and external queries related to invoices and bank reconciliations promptly, demonstrating excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Post transactions accurately into the general ledger, contributing to the integrity of financial data across various accounts.
  • Aid in preparing month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other relevant entries as required by each client.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, addressing queries quickly and effectively while always seeking ways to add value through technical insight or practical solutions.

Experience Required

  • A good general standard of education including English and Mathematics GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above is essential for this position.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounts payable and receivables processes gained through previous experience or relevant study is highly desirable.
  • A confident telephone manner combined with clear written communication skills ensures effective interaction with both clients and colleagues.
