Required for a busy internet retailer with a processing warehouse in TW4, approximately 15 minutes' walk from Hounslow West tube station. We are mostly receiving and packaging printed books, music, and household goods - with origins & destinations around the world. We have a larger storage warehouse in TW14 where we book-in and stow/shelve incoming stock. We're a small efficient business, operating for over 20 years, with only a few weekday employees. (NB. A Saturday shift is also run with separate staffing). The managing director does the office administration work and some warehouse tasks.

The job will involve processing of incoming deliveries using scanners, packing orders using tape dispensers, book wraps and boxes, & generating dispatch labelling using our systems, along with general warehouse duties. Our two adjacent processing/packing TW4 warehouse units are of smaller size (2.5k sq ft each) however benefits from significant external yard space and ample car parking. The job may relocate to our larger TW14 location later this year.

The working environment is usually busy, with a standard day of 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, but applicants need to be able to do paid overtime up to at least 10 hour day if/when necessary (i.e. 8am to 6pm). Annual basic salary £28,808 (equivalent to £13.85 per hour) with the job being a permanent, ongoing requirement.

Overtime - if/when busy (most likely at start of week) we start at 8am and finish about 6pm. All applicants must be flexible and able to do extra hours in accordance with variance in daily throughput. However, as it happens currently we are usually doing standard hours only. Employees are also required to be prepared to work two Saturdays a month, although the objective is to avoid doing so, but as an example during Q4 it's so busy.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be:
