Wig Consultant
We're Browns – (and you could be too.)
We help people feel like themselves again. With understanding, care, and expertise, our specialist wig consultants and stylists guide each person through their hair journey with compassion and confidence — because feeling good begins with feeling understood.
Beginning
Browns began with one simple purpose: to help people regain confidence after hair loss. For decades, we've supported patients with compassion and professionalism — providing not just hair loss solutions, but reassurance, understanding, and hope.
Today, our service connects people across the UK to tailored hair loss solutions, delivered by a caring team who genuinely want to make a difference.
Where we're at
Every day, our Wig Consultants meet patients and customers at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Whether in hospital clinics, salons, or at home, our consultants combine expertise and empathy to deliver a fitting service that helps people rediscover their confidence.
As our partnerships with NHS Trusts, charities, and private clients continue to grow, we're looking for compassionate, skilled Wig Consultants to join our team — professionals who can bring reassurance, creativity, and care to every consultation.
Next Chapter
This isn't just about fitting wigs — it's about restoring confidence.
As a Wig Consultant, you'll guide patients and customers through every step of their journey with Browns, providing expert fittings, advice, and aftercare. You'll work across several clinic and salon environments, ensuring every consultation is personal, professional, and compassionate.
You'll also build trusted relationships with NHS Trusts, charity partners, and the Browns team, helping us deliver the very best experience to everyone we support.
If you're empathetic, confident, and dedicated to making a genuine difference, this could be the next chapter for you.
What you'll be doing
You'll provide exceptional wig-fitting consultations for NHS patients and retail customers, 3 days per week at various locations — ensuring every fitting is handled with care, professionalism, and precision.
You'll be:
- Delivering professional, compassionate consultations tailored to individual needs.
- Fitting, styling, and adjusting wigs to ensure the perfect fit and natural finish.
- Maintaining clinic and salon environments to the highest standard.
- Facilitating home visits when required to provide accessible, empathetic service.
- Liaising with colleagues regarding wig queries, alternative styles, and specialist requests.
- Managing and maintaining stock levels, ensuring seasonal stock turnover and accurate records.
- Working with the Senior Team to address complaints and patient feedback with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts across NHS Trusts and charity partners.
- Adhering to NHS Trust guidelines and meeting all service deadlines.
- Attending review meetings as required.
- Ensuring all company SOPs and internal targets are consistently met.
- Travelling to other locations as needed to support service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including Health & Safety and GDPR.
What we're looking for
You don't need to tick every box, but we're ideally looking for someone who has:
- At least 2 years' experience in wig fitting or a related hairdressing role.
- NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing (or equivalent qualification).
- A confident, compassionate communication style and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
- Excellent collaboration and rapport-building skills.
- Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to work well under pressure.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- An understanding of relevant legislation including H&S and GDPR.
- A passion for ongoing professional development and patient care.
What you'll get from us
- A competitive salary and recognition for your skill, care, and impact.
- Part-time, permanent role.
- 28 days holiday, pro rata (including bank holidays), increasing by one day for every full year with us (up to 5 additional days).
- Healthcare and pension from day one.
- 2 volunteering days per year to give back to your community.
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- A supportive, values-driven team where what you do truly matters.
The important bit
We know confidence looks different on everyone — and that goes for job applications too. If you think this sounds like your kind of role but you don't tick every single box, we still want to hear from you. Show us your strengths, your passion, and what you can bring to Browns. Let's talk.
