Social Worker – Residential Family Assessment Centre
Location: BH1
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (some flexibility considered)
Contract: Permanent
About Us
Connecting Families Residentials is a trauma-informed residential family assessment centre providing structured, compassionate assessments for families who need additional support to care safely for their children.
Our practice is grounded in the ParentAssess model and underpinned by relationship-based, trauma-informed social work. We focus on understanding parents' lived experiences and capacity for change, working alongside them to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children.
We offer a reflective, supportive environment where social workers can focus on the quality of their assessments and relationships, free from the bureaucracy and pressures of statutory case management.
The Role
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our growing team and contribute to high-quality residential parenting assessments.
You will lead the assessment process for families residing within the centre, ensuring that all work is evidence-based, transparent, and centred on the child's welfare.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering full ParentAssess parenting assessments.
- Observing and analysing family interactions within a trauma-informed framework.
- Coordinating assessment plans, reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
- Providing reflective supervision and guidance to residential keyworkers.
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements, and good practice standards.
About You
You will be a reflective, confident practitioner who:
- Holds a recognised Social Work qualification and is registered with Social Work England.
- Has experience in child protection, court work, or family assessment.
- Can produce clear, analytical, evidence-based reports.
- Values relational practice and understands the impact of trauma.
- Is motivated to work within a small, supportive, and values-led service.
Experience using ParentAssess is desirable but not essential – full training and support will be provided.
What We Offer
- Salary of £38,000 per annum.
- A values-led, trauma-informed culture with manageable workloads.
- Training and development opportunities, including ParentAssess accreditation.
- Regular reflective supervision and access to clinical consultation.
- A role where your professional judgement and wellbeing are genuinely valued.
- Opportunities to shape a developing service and influence best practice.
