We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the overall management of the facility, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained for our residents. This position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, particularly in assisted living and dementia care settings. Registered on the Social Care Wales Manager/Deputy Manager register.

Ideally completed Level 5 Health and Social Care or currently undoing training towards Level 5
Registered on the Social Care Wales Manager/Deputy Manager register
Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is preferred.
Proven experience in senior care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the RI and Manager in overseeing daily operations within the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Assist the Care Manager with Pre-admission assessments.
- Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive working environment and encouraging professional development.
- Coordinate resident care plans, ensuring that individual needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and external stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to care.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members.
- Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout the facility.
- Act as a point of contact for staff and residents in the absence of the Manager.
- Liaising with multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
- Assist the RI with the 6 monthly Quality Assurance reporting.
- Coordinating employee 3 monthly supervisions and training.
- Assist the facilities manager with disciplinary investigations/hearings in liaison with HR.
- Liaising with discharge co-ordinators and social workers, ensuring that vacancies are filled as soon as possible.
- Coordinate hospital appointments
- Attending Local Authority provider meetings
- Attending management meetings.
- Supporting the health and safety officer.
Skills
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a care home or similar setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of assisted living, senior care, dementia care, and nursing home operations.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Compassionate approach to resident care with a focus on enhancing quality of life.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with various stakeholders.
- A background as a nurse or relevant qualifications in health and social care would be advantageous.
