Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, with experience in supervising and leading a team. You will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of our residents by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop care plans are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
  • Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care is delivered.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status.
  • Foster a warm and welcoming environment for residents, encouraging social interaction and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a team setting.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and documentation is required.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
