The Opportunity
Have you graduated from a degree course in
Civil Engineer (or similar) in the last couple of years?
Would you like to deliver sustainable projects that have a lasting impact on our communities?
Applicants must have an unconditional right to live and work in the UK for an indefinite period without limitation.
This opportunity is ideal for a Civil Engineering Graduate looking to progress in the Land Development sector, with support towards professional membership / accreditation.
This position offers the opportunity to be involved in the design, coordination, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of land development projects, with a particular emphasis on sustainable drainage, highways design, and active travel.
Typical Projects May Include
- strategic residential schemes (1,000+ units),
- town and city centre regeneration,
- detailed design for small residential parcels, and
- commercial sector projects, such as waste recycling and logistics centres.
We're looking for someone with strong skills and drive to develop their career to support our growing team in Cambridge.
Essential Items / Skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Written and verbal communication (ideally, some evidence of report witting skills to be provided in application).
- Teamwork and the ability to communicate with others from different backgrounds.
- Keen interest in Civil Engineering / land development.
- A drive to develop your career.
Valued Experience
- Literacy in AutoCAD and / or Civil 3D.
- Appreciation of Hydrology / Hydraulics.
- Work experience relevant to Land Development / Construction / Civil Engineering sector.
- Educational background in Civil Engineering (ideally, MEng graduate in Civil Engineering), although other educational routes would be considered subject to skills and experience.
As a key member of our Cambridge Infrastructure team, your role will involve the following:
- Supporting senior team members to prepare drainage strategies, calculations and Flood Risk Assessment reports for planning.
- Preparing plans and drawings at all stages of the development cycle (concept through to construction).
- Supporting the development of designs for Earthworks, Highway and Drainage.
- Liaising with Local Authorities and other stakeholders.
- Liaising with clients, third parties, and other disciplines.
- Occasional site attendance with other team members, as required.
- Being mentored by senior team members.
- Advice and support with professional development towards accreditation / membership of chosen membership body (CIHT / ICE / CIWEM).
