Our busy butcher's counter is a vital part of our farm shop and is known for its exceptional range of fresh cuts and prepared products.

The Role

We're looking for a friendly and reliable Butcher's Counter Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with some butchery experience, who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment. Full carcass butchery is not required, but you'll need a good understanding of meat preparation, handling, and counter service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and presenting meat products for sale
• Cut, trim, and portion meat to customer and display specifications
• Serve customers at the counter with professionalism and product knowledge
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
• Support the butchery team with general duties and stock rotation
• Help ensure the counter remains well-stocked and attractively presented

What We're Looking For

• Some experience in a butchery or meat counter environment
• Knowledge of different meat cuts and safe food handling practices
• Positive attitude and a passion for good customer service
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Food hygiene certification is a plus (training can be provided)
