We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to work with one of our FinTech clients, based in either their London or Manchester office, focussing on one of their core products. This role is for an experienced developer and the person will need to provide hands-on technical leadership alongside mentorship and guidance to the wider engineering team.

There is a focus on ensuring systems can scale with Kotlin and React expertise essential for the role. This person will drive architectural decisions, spot opportunities for efficiency and mentor a broad team of engineers.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the development architecture and technical work of the engineering squads as well as the culture within an exciting and fast growing FinTech business.

Working across teams to drive consistency, scalability and architectural alignment

  • Hands on development work (Kotlin & React) when needed, whilst supporting others.
  • Modern tech stack: Kotlin, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS etc
  • Supporting engineers with mentorship, pairing and design guidance
  • Collaborating with business leads, product managers and design leads.

About You

  • Led large-scale technical initiatives, preferably within FinTech environments.
  • Strong Kotlin (or potentially Java) developer with experience developing scalable backend systems
  • React or related JS frameworks on customer/client-facing UI.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment which is product-focused as well as deploying into production.
