Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS/Nursery Teaching Assistant Practitioner to join our team and support our youngest learners in developing the foundations for lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the class teacher to deliver structured learning activities for individuals and small groups.
  • Support children's personal, social, and emotional development, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Assist in planning and preparing engaging activities that promote curiosity and creativity.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, contributing to observations and assessments.
  • Help manage behaviour positively and in line with school policies.
  • Support outdoor learning and Forest School sessions.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to foster strong home-school partnerships.
  • Uphold safeguarding and health & safety standards at all times.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications

Full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, BTEC).

Desirable Qualifications

Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience working in an EYFS or nursery setting.
  • Understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
    Enthusiastic, adaptable, and reflective practitioner.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with SEND support.
    Knowledge of Lancashire's Quality Award and local early years initiatives.
