As a Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the finance team in the company. You will be responsible for performing month-end, analyzing financial data and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

What you'll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends, variances
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles, staying updated on changes and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with VAT laws and regulations.
  • Prepare calculations for the capitalisation of internally developed assets in accordance with IAS 38
  • Preparation of income tax calculations
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Support the finance team in ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.

Essential skills you'll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, FRS).
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NAV, Cognos) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulations.
  • High integrity and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
