14-month fixed-term (maternity cover)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced
Financial Controller
to cover a 14-month maternity leave starting February next year. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in preparing and managing monthly accounts across multiple entities and ensuring compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments.
  • Full balance sheet ownership across multiple entities.
  • Perform HMRC, intercompany, and invoice finance reconciliations.
  • Complete VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Manage system administration duties related to finance.
  • Support handover processes at the start and end of the maternity cover period.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in a financial control or senior accounting role.
  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or in the final stages of studies).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with at least 2 days per week in the Leeds office.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities across entities.
