Job Description:
Our Client is seeking a Programme Manager to join their growing business who will be responsible for the management & leadership of the Engineering and defence-based programmes. The role requires a UK passport holder (no dual nationalities unfortunately) and capable of gaining National Security Vetting SC clearance.
Skills
- In-depth understanding of programme management methods and principles.
- Programme Management and delivery of complex high value defence programmes. (5 Years minimum)
- Deliver programmes on time, on budget and to specification ensuring programmes are correctly planned, resourced and executed.
- Ensure that comprehensive plans, reviewed project specifications and designs are produced that identify and document the functional requirements and performance characteristics of the system.
- Establish NRE estimations, monitoring costs against the project plan and raising any deviations with Senior Management.
- Creating and managing a programme budget.
- Management and communication of programme risk.
- Goal setting for team to ensure clear delivery of objectives/tasks.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with team members, vendors, and partners.
- Compiling and writing progress reports and making presentations to management and other stakeholders.
- Project Management & Resource planning. (MS Project)
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects to deadline.

Other requirements
- Due to the nature of the role, there will be an occasional need for working outside normal working hours.
- There will be a need to travel to customer sites on an occasional basis.
Qualifications
BSc/BEng or equivalent in Engineering or similar discipline (minimum 2:1)
Association of Project Management Qualification (APM) or similar project management certification.
Security Clearance
The role requires a UK passport holder (not dual) and capable of gaining National Security Vetting SC clearance. Proof of residency in UK for last 5 years.
