Carpenter/Joiner

We are a busy and growing woodworking factory specialising in cutting timber to size for trade and retail customers. Our workshop is equipped with professional cutting and sizing machinery, and we take pride in producing accurate, high-quality cuts to meet customer specifications.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter / Wood Machinist to join our production team. The role focuses solely on cutting timber and sheet materials to size — no fitting or site work required.

You will be responsible for operating saws and cutting equipment, measuring materials precisely, and ensuring that every order is completed accurately, safely, and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cutting timber and sheet materials to specified dimensions using saws and cutting machines
• Reading and understanding cutting lists and measurements
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
• Checking quality and accuracy of all finished pieces
• Following all health and safety procedures within the workshop

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a carpenter, joiner, or wood machinist
• Confident using panel saws, crosscut saws, or other woodworking machinery
• Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Commitment to safe working practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.81-£23.81 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
