Roles & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Tier 1/Tier 2 support resource for EU Salesforce users, resolving issues, answering questions, and escalating complex items to the U.S. Platform team as appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot user-reported issues related to access, data quality, reports, dashboards, and record visibility in accordance with EU security standards.
  • Manage basic administrator functions such as permission set assignments, user creation/deactivation, license management, and minor configuration adjustments.
  • Own and monitor daily platform operations for the EU org, including login issues, queue/backlog management, and support ticket response.
  • Execute and support the Salesforce DevOps pipeline using Gearset including validating deployments, monitoring change tracking, executing deployments, and coordinating post-deployment smoke tests.
  • Review inbound changes for EU data, privacy, and security considerations before approving or executing deployments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies for visibility and alignment on upcoming releases and sprint plans managed by the U.S. team.
  • Importing, exporting, cleansing, and de-duplicating data across EU standard and custom objects while adhering to GDPR requirements for data minimization and lawful processing.
  • Design and maintain custom reports and dashboards as needed by Salesforce users and stakeholders to provide actionable insights for business decision-making.
  • Perform routine audits of permission sets, profiles, field-level security, and data access to ensure GDPR and internal compliance.
  • Support testing activities for new features built by the U.S. team, including functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain and monitor data quality across EU Salesforce objects, performing deduplication, cleanup, and validation according to GDPR principles.
  • Coordinate with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Compliance teams to support audits, review data-handling workflows, and support data-subject requests (DSAR, RTBF, export requests).
  • Maintain documentation related to EU user support, release notes, data processes, troubleshooting steps, use of AppExchange applications, and user guides to support ongoing system use and future enhancements.
  • Provide user training and onboarding to EU staff, ensuring accurate understanding of processes, data handling, and privacy requirements.
  • Evaluate new AppExchange applications or integrations proposed for the EU org and assist in assessing GDPR implications.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

GDPR & Data Protection Responsibilities

  • Support GDPR-compliant user access management, including data minimization principles, lawful processing, and retention policies.
  • Assist in the execution and documentation of data-subject requests (DSARs), including retrieval, redaction, or deletion activities in Salesforce.
  • Monitor and escalate potential data-privacy issues, anomalies, or misconfigurations to the DPO and U.S. Platform team.
  • Participate in data access reviews, periodic audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA/DPIA) for Salesforce changes that affect EU personal data.

Qualifications

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator required.
  • Additional certifications preferred: Salesforce Advanced Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator in a production environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce DevOps tooling, preferably Gearset, including deployment pipelines, validation, and metadata comparison.
  • Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 Salesforce support for a business-facing organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GDPR and experience managing data within regulated European environments.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing issues related to user access, data visibility, sharing rules, and permissions.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security architecture and EU-specific access-control needs.
  • Familiarity with generating and maintaining reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to document processes and contribute to internal Salesforce knowledge bases.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support non-technical business users.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of Salesforce Shield, Privacy Center, or similar compliance products preferred.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize support requests.
  • Experience working in multi-org, multi-region enterprise Salesforce environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
  • Ability to self-manage.
