Overview
The Larruperz Community Centre launched a cafe within the centre at the beginning of April, and we are now looking for an experienced Barista to join us. Ideally you would be looking for permanent work, have Allergy Awareness and Food Safety training, and be available to work Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop barista skills within a welcoming environment, ensuring customers have a memorable experience. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who are passionate about coffee, food safety, and creating a warm atmosphere for patrons.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to company standards.
- Assist customers with menu selections, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system and manage customer payments efficiently.
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver a seamless customer experience during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar serving role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable.
- Good time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly, approachable manner that enhances customer satisfaction.
- Strong organisational skills to maintain cleanliness and stock levels throughout shifts.
