This is an incredible opportunity for someone to join a fast paced and highly innovative global consumer products company with a very well-regarded, business-minded legal team. The Counsel (EMEA Commercial) role is newly created and will be responsible for managing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements that comply with Company policies and risk tolerance, allowing you to partner with a variety of teams across the business, including sales, marketing and e-commerce teams to drive growth while protecting the company's interests. Although the position will primarily be responsible for commercial agreements in the EMEA region, there will be ample opportunity for other commercial and regulatory projects for the Company's EMEA business. This position will report to the Vice President, Sr. Associate General Counsel, Global Commercial.

You will learn many facets of the business working on a wide range of global agreements that could span across products, technology, supply chain, IT, marketing/sales, distribution, and various other commercial relationships. The legal team is comprised of highly business-minded attorneys who cultivate their skills to lead many business initiatives and outcomes throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is someone who is curious and wants to elevate their "legal agility" to work with a highly innovative, fast-paced and truly passionate team.
Position Requirements
- Must hold a current practicing certificate for England and Wales
- Between 3-5 years' post-qualification experience practicing law
- Proven expertise drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Experience with marketing, IP and technology agreements; exposure to either selective distribution and/or competition law issues a plus
- Data privacy knowledge and experience
- Very strong legal and analytical skills – strong judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective solutions and possess a business-oriented approach to problem solving
- Excellent written, oral, listening, and organizational skills with proven ability to interact effectively with varied audiences
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to stand firm on issues with business clients when necessary
- Ability to think like a business person and assess both legal and business issues, so as to partner effectively with business leaders.
- Business-oriented approach to problem solving, tempered by an appreciation for legal complexity and risk
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks, and meet deadlines with a changing fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who thrives in a "roll-up-the-sleeves", high-growth environment and enjoys collaborating across functions
Preferences
- Experience practicing law for of a fast-paced consumer goods company
- Fluent in French and/or German language strongly preferred
What You'll Do
- Assist with and manage annual negotiations with key retailers and distributors in designated EMEA markets
- Manage the drafting and negotiation of global commercial agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance
- Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
- Marketing / influencer agreements
- Retailer agreements
- SaaS and other technology agreements
- Agency and media-buying agreements
- Logistics agreements
- Provide day-to-day legal counselling to a variety of teams including sales, marketing and e-commerce teams, across EMEA
- Coordinate legal guidance for new-market launches and new channels
- Monitor SharkNinja websites for European compliance and brand protection issues
- Lead end-to-end takedown of fake/fraudulent websites and support other marketplace-enforcement actions
- Assist in developing template agreements, training commercial teams and improving legal processes
- Manage and coordinate outside counsel in EMEA when specialist support is required
