As an Economic Crime Senior Manager within our Chief Controls Office, you'll be part of the Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) function's 1st Line of Defence. Our team plays a vital role in protecting customers and the business from economic crime, and we're looking for someone who's technically strong, strategically minded and passionate about enabling robust risk management. You'll work alongside talented colleagues who are committed to delivering practical, risk-based solutions that meet regulatory expectations.
This is a high-impact role where you'll act as a trusted advisor to risk teams, Operations and internal service providers. You'll lead the design and implementation of economic crime controls, ensuring our business is equipped to manage risks across Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (AB&C) and Fraud. What you'll be doing:
- Design and embed economic crime controls across business processes, platforms and customer journeys.
- Own and maintain 1LOD control standards and procedures, ensuring they're practical and aligned to regulatory expectations.
- Develop and maintain risk assessments for economic crime across products, channels and customer segments.
- Lead technical reviews of control effectiveness, identify gaps and drive remediation.
- Run governance forums and produce insightful MI to support senior decision-making.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Policy Owners and Assistant Managers.

What you'll need:
- Deep technical expertise across AML, Sanctions, AB&C and Fraud, including relevant legislation and guidance (e.g. JMLSG).
- Proven experience in control design, implementation and testing within a 1LOD or operational risk environment within a regulated environment.
- Proven ability to translate regulatory and policy requirements into business-owned controls.
- Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, ideally within the Insurance, Pensions and Investments sector.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
