Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Manager located in Hyderabad. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient, high-quality, and compliant production of defence and aerospace components. This leadership role requires deep expertise in defence manufacturing processes, strict adherence to AS9100D quality standards, and proven success in managing large, cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-departmental efforts, optimizing processes for cost efficiency, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production strategies to meet demanding defence contract schedules, volume targets, and cost objectives.
- Oversee daily production activities across shift and work centre. Ensuring seamless execution from raw materials to finished goods.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times.
- Serve as the key champion for AS9100D Quality Management System within the production facility.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance to address Non-Conformances (NCs), Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and participate in internal and external audits.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a large production team, including supervisors, team leads, and technicians.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct Performance reviews, identifying training needs, and build a high performing, engaged, and technically proficient workforce.
- Manage production budgets, control labour and overhead costs, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like overall equipment effectiveness and first pass yield.
- Oversee the Maintenance and utilization of specialized manufacturing equipment relevant to defence production.
- Partner with Engineering team to industrialize new products
. - Manage facility layout capacity planning, and capital equipment acquisition (CapEx) to optimize long-term operational efficiency and meet contractual capacity obligations.
- Familiarity with interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints and geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
- Min 12 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in management role overseeing a team of 30 or more employees.
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes specific to defence applications (e.g., UAV / Drones / Loitering Munitions).
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries is mandatory
- Knowledge of AS9100D standards, including deep understanding of configuration management, first article inspection (FAI), and traceability requirement.
- Proficiency in modern manufacturing methodologies.
- Working experience in production with ERP software. (Professional knowledge in any ERP).
- Leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Problem-solving, decision-making capabilities, and attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.
