MR PORTER are now seeking a talented Assistant Buyer to join the team. Some of the essentials for you to know are:

Location: Our Westfield office in Shepherd's Bush

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (4 days in office)

Here is a breakdown of what you'll be doing:

• Oversee preparation of vendor packs, ensuring BAAs compile them in good time before trips.
• Attend ad-hoc buying appointments and deputise for the Buyer when needed to gather product information.
• Review sales performance to provide informed product input during appointments.
• Complete buy sheets after appointments to prepare for the Buyer's final buy.
• Raise and send orders to vendors, managing the process in the YNAP system.
• Oversee RRP entry, ensuring BAAs receive and input RRPs on time and to deadline.
• Conduct competitive shopping (in-store and online) to compare offer and pricing with NAP and check deliveries.
• Analyse weekly sales data to propose repeats or swaps, presenting recommendations to the Buyer and Merchandiser and coordinating actions with vendors.
• Manage the repeat and swap process to maximise vendor stock availability and ensure fast delivery.
• Create weekly trade sheets with delivery highlights/lowlights, key editorial and marketing features, and best/worst sellers.
• Support Press, Marketing and Editorial teams on new brand and exclusive launches, providing buy sheets, delivery/upload updates, and style suggestions.
• Regularly review products on site, ensuring accurate display, styling, editorial, pricing, and avoiding duplication.
• Undertake ad-hoc projects for Buyers and the Buying Director.
• Oversee the BAA's daily workload, including setting objectives and running weekly catch-ups.
• Coach the BAA to improve efficiency, maintain high working standards, and support sell-through, scalability and KPI improvement.

The type of person we are looking for:

• Experience at a BAA or equivalent level gained in a fast-paced fashion retail buying or merchandising environment with strong administrative skills.
• Strong analytical and advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
• Commercial Awareness - understanding of our business, products and competition.
• Strong eye for detail and organisational skills and strives for a high level of accuracy.
• The ability to work with stringent deadlines.
• A great sense of humour, personal style and attitude.
