We are looking for someone to join our family run funeral service as a Funeral Administrator. You will be a lone worker (mainly) in our Chapel Allerton office and often the first person families speak to after a bereavement. Therefore we are looking for an empathetic and caring individual who can offer reassurance while ensuring people feel informed and supported.
- Answering the phone, recording first calls and enquiries, taking messages and greeting clients
- Oversee day to day branch operations including accompanying family members of the deceased into our chapel of rest, administration and office presentation (keeping it clean and tidy)
- Liasing with outside agencies including masons, ministers, florists and catering venues
- Handle correspondence including emails, letters, and phone calls in a professional manner
- Preparation of invoices
- Inputting funerals on to our Funeral database and keeping it updated with any changes
- Chasing any debts
- Guide and advise families on Pre Paid Funeral Plan options
- Organising petty cash
- May be needed to provide holiday/sickness cover at our other branches (Bramley and Hunslet)
- May be needed to occasionally work outside usual hours
We are looking for someone who:
- Has the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Has a sympathetic, calm and caring nature around sensitive situations
- Is comfortable in a setting where the deceased may be resting
- Has a good telephone manner
- Holds a full UK driving licence
- Has experience in admin roles and using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Is confident working independently
- Is able to work under pressure and to deadlines·
- Is reliable, honest and can commit to maintaining confidentiality at all times
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 per week
Work Location: In person
