Sensor Manufacturing / Service Technician

Location: Southampton

Salary: £27,780 - £30,000 (Pro-rata, DOE) + Pension + 25 Days Annual Leave + 8 Public Holidays

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

About Us

Clearwater Sensors Ltd. is a rapidly growing green-tech company specializing in environmental sensor development. Founded in 2019, we design and manufacture cutting-edge water chemistry analysers for applications such as water quality monitoring and industrial process analysis. With strong sales growth and multiple research grants secured, we are looking for a skilled Sensor Manufacturing / Service Technician to support our operations.

The Role

This position involves manufacturing, testing, and servicing environmental sensors, ensuring quality control, and supporting field deployments. It requires a hands-on approach, working with electro-mechanical components, fluidics, and calibration processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and manufacture high-quality sensor components and final products.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and servicing of production units and customer returns.
  • Perform calibration procedures and quality control assessments.
  • Maintain an organized and safe working environment, following 5S standards.
  • Support stock management, reporting shortages, and assisting in procurement.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and records for quality and compliance purposes.
  • Provide occasional on-site installation and customer support.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and testing.
  • Familiarity with printed circuit board assembly and soldering.
  • Basic knowledge of fluidics and chemical preparation (training provided).
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs with relevant industry experience in manufacturing or servicing.
  • Apprenticeship in a technical field or BTEC in engineering preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to work off-site occasionally.
