This role is for a focused and highly motivated Electricians mate working towards a fully qualified electrician role. You will join the M&E team and deliver the installation and commissioning activities of projects throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. As an Electricians Mate you will assist the Electrical Installer / Commissioning Engineer on site and at the factory as required. You will carry out cable installation and terminations under supervision. You will perform basic testing under supervision to enable the Installation certificate to be completed. You will ensure that all installation and commissioning activities are executed to meet the project requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner within the agreed constraints of time, quality and cost, whilst maintaining the relationships with the clients' operational staff and an excellent Health Safety and Environmental performance.

You will ensure customer satisfaction and quality is always achieved. You will be involved in the preparation of scheme specific documentation including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, all under the guidance of the Installations Department Manager.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist with the site installation of the electrical Equipment
  • Assist with site commissioning phase on sites covering the UK and Ireland.
  • Ensure the commissioning is to the appropriate levels of quality and to standards and manufacturers best practice.
  • Undertake, under supervision, NICEIC electrical installation testing to BS7671 as requested.
  • Demonstration of commissioned plant to our client's representatives to gain plant sign off prior to takeover.
  • Assist the design team by undertaking site visits to gather information for the purposes of tendering or design prior to construction.

Who we are looking for:

  • Basic electrical Knowledge. A good understanding of electrical systems and safety practices
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in electrical providing a foundation is preferable
  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • WIMES familiarity
  • Experience of working within the Utilities Industry
  • Experience of working with Steel Wire Armour and terminating/glanding
  • Control circuit fault finding
  • Variable speed drive experience
  • Ultrasonic level control experience
  • An industry applicable ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ equivalent or working towards this.
  • Competent in understanding / reading engineering drawings.
  • Be able to work on your own, or as part of a team
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
