Cover Chef – Part-Time (Mon, Wed, Fri)

Location: Brook Babes Nursery (Yorkshire)

Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Additional hours available)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role

As our Cover Chef, you'll play a vital role in preparing nutritious, balanced meals for children aged 0–5, supporting their health and development. You'll work closely with our nursery team to ensure mealtimes are safe, enjoyable, and aligned with dietary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks in line with our healthy eating policy
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Cater for dietary needs including allergies and preferences
• Support with kitchen cleaning and stock management
• Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure smooth mealtime routines

Skills

• Proven experience in fine dining or restaurant management with a strong culinary background.
• Expertise in food handling, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and shift management.
• Ability to create engaging menus through innovative menu planning and culinary creativity.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems for efficient stock control.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen and service staff.
• Experience in catering services, banquet operations, or hospitality settings is highly desirable.
