Job Opportunity: Panel Technician Apprentice (Level 3)

Location: Body Shop, Oldham, OL8

A reputable body shop in Oldham is looking to recruit a motivated and mature Panel Technician Apprentice to join their friendly team. The business operates multiple sites and specialises in car servicing, repairs, MOT, and smart repairs.

What we're looking for:

  • A mature candidate
  • Some previous experience in the industry or relevant college courses is preferred
  • Valid driving licence
  • Willingness to learn and work across panel repair and some paint work
  • Reliable and motivated with a good work ethic

The Apprenticeship & Job Description:

  • Position: Panel Technician Level 3 Apprentice months long in duration)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (no weekend work)

As part of the apprenticeship, you will develop the key skills and knowledge needed to become a qualified panel technician. This includes:

  • Assessing damage and preparing vehicles for repair
  • Repairing vehicle body panels using a variety of techniques and tools
  • Replacing and aligning body components
  • Using specialist equipment to carry out smart repairs
  • Understanding and applying health and safety practices
  • Gaining experience in basic paint preparation and finishing (non-qualification)
  • Working effectively within a workshop environment and communicating with colleagues and customers

This apprenticeship follows the Skills England Level 3 standards, equipping you with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge required by the industry. You will be expected to attend Tameside College 1 day per week for your training and be with the employer for the remaining duration of the week.
