Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring the safe and timely handling of materials and products. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and experience in warehouse environments to develop their skills within a supportive organisation.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified.
- Manage inventory through accurate recording and updating within the warehouse management system.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move goods around the warehouse.
- Assist in organising stock storage areas to optimise space utilisation.
- Participate in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring correct documentation is maintained.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on mechanical handling equipment.
- Support with general warehouse duties, including cleaning and organising work areas.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Valid forklift licence an advantage desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Strong materials handling skills with knowledge of safe lifting techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction or related fields is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment. This role requires a proactive individual committed to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency within our warehouse operations.
