Introduction:

This is your chance to take the technical lead within a specialist calibration team, shaping quality standards and driving continual improvement. You'll oversee a dedicated group of calibration professionals and ensure the lab continues to deliver work to the highest UKAS-accredited standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and develop the technical direction of the calibration department.
  • Create, review and maintain calibration procedures and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical training to calibration staff, particularly in the acoustics field.
  • Drive compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and Health & Safety standards.
  • Oversee resource planning, performance analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage, coach and develop the calibration team to achieve departmental targets.
  • Support and enhance the Quality Management System and UKAS quality manual.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to grow and optimise the calibration service offering.

Main Skills Needed:

  • Strong leadership and people development experience.
  • Proven background in a UKAS-accredited ISO/IEC 17025 environment.
  • Experience managing calibration processes, ideally with acoustics expertise.
  • Competent in developing calibration procedures and templates to accreditation standards.
  • Confident managing budgets and departmental performance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and modern quality systems.
  • Degree or equivalent technical qualification desirable.
