Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and highly motivated individual to work for a leading flexible packaging company based in Strabane, County Tyrone.
Boran Mopack Ltd are seeking a versatile and proactive IT Officer to support daily IT operations and contribute to the ongoing development, maintenance, and optimisation of our Management Information System/Enterprise Resource Planning (MIS/ERP) solutions. This role combines end-user support, system administration, and application development responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of IT systems and improved business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily IT Support & Maintenance
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and service requests promptly.
- Maintain IT asset inventory (hardware and software).
- Perform regular system health checks, backups, and updates.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, printers, scanners, and other IT devices on the production floor and administration
- Ensure antivirus and security patches are up to date.
- MIS/ERP Development & Maintenance
- Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of custom modules or enhancements in the existing MIS/ERP system.
- Collaborate with departments to gather and analyse business requirements and implement system enhancements accordingly.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and real-time analytics to support production monitoring and decision-making.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot application-level issues.
- Maintain documentation related to system architecture, configurations, and custom developments.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot ERP-related issues in coordination with external vendors.
- Provide user training and support for MIS/ERP tools.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
- Document system workflows, user guides, and technical manuals.
- IT Systems Administration
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions across systems.
- Administer databases used by the MIS/ERP (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
- Support integration between ERP and third-party tools or APIs.
- Ensure data integrity and perform regular audits of system logs and usage.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Educated in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support and/or software development (ERP/MIS preferred).
Skills
- Proficiency in IT support and troubleshooting (Windows, networks, printers, etc.).
- Experience in ERP/MIS platforms
- SQL database knowledge and experience with report generation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with a customer-focused mindset.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support and/or software development (ERP/MIS preferred).
- Strong time management skills.
