Position Description:
We are looking for an Area Lead to join our Transportation Team to improve infrastructure in Ohio. Our Ohio offices are located in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. The candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and have at least 15 years of related experience. We are looking for someone who has strong people and team building skills to effectively communicate with clients and staff. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
Typical responsibilities include:- Operational:
- Responsible for financial performance of the Ohio offices for the Transportation Market Segment.
- Track monthly workload to coordinate staffing needs with the Market Segment Lead (MSL) and recommend staff changes as needed.
- Promote consistent technical excellence.
- Review and approve contracts and seek input from MSL as appropriate.
- Effectively coordinate Ohio activities with the MSL.
- Responsible for client profitability.
- Approve training/seminars and memberships with annual budget and coordinate with other Area Leads within the Transportation.
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Sales Business Development:
- Work collaboratively to grow Wade Trim's presence and market share in the Ohio Transportation market.
- Review proposals including the scope, schedule and fee and assign as needed.
- Assist with marketing, proposals, and technical presentations.
- Perform client visits and routine sales calls.
- Monitor client satisfaction.
- Hold regularly scheduled discussions to coordinate business development.
- Responsible for Ohio Transportation sales and budget.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
- Ohio Professional Engineer license; ability to obtain PE license in multiple states is required.
- 15+ years of related Engineering experience (Roadway and/or Transportation related design) is required.
- Previous ODOT and Ohio Local Public Agency experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of ODOT standards and processes is required including experience with:
- -ODOT plan preparation and review process.
- -ODOT cost estimating.
- -Preparation of ODOT schedules and budgets.
- -Design and/or managing design using ORD.
- Strong written and verbal skills are required.
- Ability to oversee, mentor, and supervise project managers and engineering staff is required.
