What you'll do

Working in the Network Delivery team within the Engineering and Asset Management Department, you will undertake investigations and deliver projects under the guidance of a principal engineer.

Responsibilities include:

  • high-level assessments of flooding due to inadequate hydraulic and root cause analysis of pollution incidents
  • concept design and delivery of Sustainable Drainage Solutions (SuDS)
  • partnership working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • commissioning surveys of Wessex Water sewerage and waste assets
  • investigating inflow and infiltration into the sewerage network
  • analysing data using Excel/Access
  • using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • hydraulic analysis using computer models (InfoWorks ICM)
  • technical report writing and project presentation
  • mentoring students and graduates.
What you'll need
  • A degree or equivalent in an engineering, science or mathematics-based subject at 2.1 or above.
  • An understanding of sewer hydraulics (essential).
  • Previous experience in design and construction would be preferred.
  • Experience in SuDS would be advantageous.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads to meet targets.
  • A full UK driving licence.
