Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Residential Manager to oversee the daily operations of a Children's Residential home specialising in EBD. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered to young people as per Oftsed Regulation.

This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of care plans, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. The Residential Manager will lead a dedicated team, fostering a supportive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being for all .young people.

Duties

  • Oversee the overall management of the Children's Residential home, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Supervise and support care staff, including supervising experience in managing teams within a Children's Residential home setting.
  • Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, including challenging behaviour.
  • Ensure effective medication administration in accordance with prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor young peoples health and wellbeing, liaising with healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Escalating concerns when dealing with safeguarding
  • Manage administrative tasks such as staffing rotas, record keeping, reporting and staff supervision.
  • Maintain strong relationships with young persons families is under S20 and all professionals involved in their care.
  • Lead staff training programmes to promote continuous professional development in areas such as ASD, ADHD, etc
  • Foster a positive organisational culture centred on compassion, respect, and excellence in care delivery.

Skills

  • Proven management or supervisory experience within a Children's Residential home.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted assessment and regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of EBD.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with experience in managing care plans, audits and staff compliance.
  • Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in enhancing residents' quality of life.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with young persons, families, staff, and professionals.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards governing Children's Residential home services. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while working within a supportive team dedicated to providing exceptional care.
