Role We are looking for a developer who can take work within our Product Team who can support the team. You will be an important part of the team and help to break down tickets into functional pieces of work, build and develop our systems based on the requirements and help deliver new features/products to our production environment and our clients. You will be a great communicator who is able to work within the team and with our product owners. We are looking for individuals who will challenge ideas in a respectful manner in the pursuit of a better outcome.
It is expected you will be vocal in team meetings and we would like you be able to demo work completed in reviews with our product team. You should be passionate and take pride in your work with the ability to use initiative to make sure tasks are progressed and workload is prioritized accordingly. Requirements
- Aimed at candidates with 1 or more years of previous commercial experience in a shared codebase working as part of a team
- Our tech stack is primarily Microsoft .NET, C#, SQL, Javascript / Typescript and React.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills – we work as part of a team and want someone who can contribute to the team and enjoy working with us
- Driven, proactive, positive attitude
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft .NET (Framework and/or Core) - our development environment. We use C#, MVC, ASP.NET and experience with NHibernate or Entity Framework is desirable
- Experience/knowledge of an enterprise level relational database management system (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.). We use Microsoft SQL Server for our databases
- Experience of web-based client-side technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.) We use a combination of JavaScript with jQuery and Typescript/React for new development.
- Experience of working with a version control system such (Git, TFSVC, CVS, etc.) We use Git in combination with Azure DevOps
- Experience of working with PowerShell is desirable
- A good understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design
- Ensure all software delivered is of a high quality and complies with standards set.
- Ensure agreed upon development processes, procedures and best practices are adopted and followed
- Contribute to the architecture and design of the team's development work and ensure it is fit for purpose.
- Identify, communicate and help mitigate risks.
- Identify, promote, implement and adopt relevant industry best practices, processes and technologies.
- Contribute to the coding and development of feature work.
- Ensure your skillset is kept up-to-date with the technologies that are employed at StarCompliance.
- Create and maintain easy to understand technical and non-technical documentation.
