Job Description
The Construction Industry Practices Manager is a new global leadership role harnessing an already existing strong appetite within Chubb for Construction business but bringing our Chubb capabilities together to bring a more consistent and powerful proposition for Construction business.
The individual will be responsible for the P&C proposition across target lines of business, collaborating with line of business heads to foster a powerful proposition that brings an integrated product and service delivery via specialist underwriting processes and expertise allied with specific technology development for Construction clients across all COG regions.
The role reports into Alex Forrest, Head of Middle-Market and Industry Practices, COG P&C with important dotted lines into each Line of Business head in the target Lines of Business.
The Role Encompasses The Following Activities
- Define the Practice, best practices and best operating procedures.
- Distribution contact point for construction related business across multiple-lines, drawing together reports, thought leadership and cross-line solutions and collaborations including facilities.
- Work with Line of Business leaders to develop applicable underwriting strategies to deliver top and bottom-line results.
- Collaborate with the Line of Business leadership to develop the resourcing model and needs required to drive the required specialisation in the field underwriting.
- Support field underwriting and data management for the premium/claims falling within the practice including interacting with Risk Engineering and Claims to harness their data flows into underwriting.
- Drive technology implementations that harness the IT landscape to bring a cohesive internal and external journey for construction business flowing through the company including no-touch underwriting solutions, broker-led facilities management and full underwriting open market business.
- Coach and lead the Construction Industry Practices Regional Managers as applicable, aiding them with strategic development, operational requirements and delivery milestones on their tactics.
- Where required, delegation of authority to regional multi-line construction field underwriting.
- Cross-functional coordination across Risk Engineering, Claims and Marketing for the Construction Industry needs.
- Responsibility for delivering strategic annual plans and forecasts in conjunction with COG Finance, Line
- of Business, Regions Management and the Industry Practices Manager.
- Drive the delivery of new product development, delivering technical input and managing the responsible party on the delivery across the technical, marketing, training and compliance requirements for launch.
- Build and delivery of Strategic Review / Portfolio Review materials at regional and COG level.
- Manage and align audit requirements with line of business or multi-line audits on construction business.
- Reinsurance – assist Line of Business Management with the successful renewal of the treaties. To include data preparation, working with Reinsurance parties within the Company or representations as required to reinsurance partners.
- Development and deployment of construction specific technical training programmes, 1:1 training.
- Collaboration with the insurance market, customers and Industry Associations
- Create Thought Leadership articles for Internal and External distribution
- Develop the referral matrix and manage referrals as required through the Practice or Line of Business, supporting the Regions to grow the Industry Practice.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Insurance Certification
- University Degree
Experience
- CAR/EAR, Casualty, EIL, PI, Marine and Cyber lines of business experience in underwriting or broking.
- Knowledge of the Reinsurance market and treaty placement structures
- Portfolio Management – planning, forecasting and strategic planning experience
- Experience of servicing multinational insurance programmes
- Strategic thinker
- Deployment of Training and Development programs
- Experience on highly service driven roles on the insurance industry – ability to manage workloads, prioritisation and is solution minded
