Canine Allies CIC is a UK-based assistance dog organisation that empowers disabled individuals to train their own pet dogs into fully qualified assistance dogs through inclusive, accessible, and supportive programmes. We rely on public support, grants, and sponsorships to deliver our work and expand our impact.
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Volunteer Fundraising Manager to help develop and deliver fundraising activities that support our programmes, dogs, and community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in the charity sector, apply existing fundraising skills, or support a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of a fundraising strategy for the organisation.
- Identify potential funding opportunities including: individual donors, corporate sponsorships, community fundraising, and small grant-making trusts.
- Write basic fundraising applications and assist with donor communications.
- Organise small fundraising events, online campaigns, or community initiatives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with supporters and volunteers.
- Help create fundraising materials in collaboration with the communications team.
- Maintain simple records of income and supporter engagement (training provided).
- Promote fundraising campaigns through social media or community networks.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Enthusiasm for fundraising and willingness to learn.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage your own time.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and confident interacting with people.
- A passion for dogs, accessibility, and Canine Allies CIC's mission.
Desirable (but not required):
- Previous fundraising experience (professional or volunteer).
- Experience planning events or managing small projects.
- Basic knowledge of the charity or CIC sector.
- Grant writing experience.
