The position is full time, office based in Canterbury, Monday to Friday 8.00 to 5.30 comes with a competitive salary and annual bonus scheme dependant on company performance

Job description

The Purchasing Assistant will provide a resource to the Supply Chain Supervisor, Brand Managers & Sales for various tasks, primarily to ensure that all Purchase orders are placed correctly as stated within Order request emails or as per Brand manager requests, whilst also maintaining accurate due dates on CRM for ALL incoming orders, ensuring this information is given to the relevant people for scheduling.

Responsibility & KPI examples

  • Ensure tracking numbers are received from suppliers and given to relevant people/loaded into Portal.
  • To provide a resource for placing Purchase Orders for senior account managers and the New Business team
  • Correctly progress Purchase orders
  • Keep the Portal updated including closing completed orders
  • Ensure that all delivery issues are dealt with same day
  • Correctly create part numbers when required.
  • Carry out system cleansing when required, i.e formatting of part codes on access
  • To liaise with suppliers to maintain & improve supply chain for the benefit of the stock intake/warehouse/returns function by proactively progress chasing.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Ensuring consistent correct administrational duties on system tools.
  • Efficient communication between sales / procurement / warehouse.
  • Maintain 100% error free placing of Purchase Orders.
  • Procure product at best possible price whilst maintaining companies standards in efficacy.
