A vibrant primary school in Peckham is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to provide tailored support for SEN students, focusing on enhancing their communication skills.   • Provide guidance and support to teachers and classroom assistants on strategies to facilitate communication and language development among all students, particularly those with speech and language difficulties.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure continued development and success.
  • Prepare detailed reports on student progress and communicate findings effectively to parents and guardians, providing strategies for support at home.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, therapy sessions, and student progress, adhering to school policies and professional standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in speech and language therapy, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • A registered Speech and Language Therapist with a relevant degree and professional qualification, demonstrating your expertise in the field.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred, with a solid understanding of the educational environment and the specific challenges faced by SEN students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to therapy, adapting methods to suit the individual needs of students.
  • A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
