Job Title: Locum Psychologist – Learning Disabilities & Complex Needs
Location: Cheshire
Working Hours: 2 days per week (Monday–Friday, daytime hours)
Salary: Attractive rates (PAYE or approved umbrella only)

Are you a qualified Psychologist with experience in mental health and learning disabilities? Pulse is recruiting for a Locum Psychologist to work across three specialist residential services supporting adults with learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge, and associated complex needs. This is a part-time opportunity (2 days per week) to join a well-established multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and contribute to person-centred care in a social care setting.

Responsibilities

As a Locum Psychologist, you will:

  • Provide psychological input across three (local) residential services
  • Deliver specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with the MDT to support care planning and risk management.
  • Contribute to service users' wellbeing through evidence-based approaches.
  • Support staff teams with psychologically informed strategies and consultation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development.

Qualifications and Experience

We welcome applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of mental health and behavioural support
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and collaborate with MDTs
  • Excellent communication and formulation skills
