Planning and Shift Engineering Manager

We have an opportunity available to internal only applicants for a Planning and Shift Engineering Manager, at Kinmel site.
Role
The role of the Planning and Shift Engineering Manager is to ensure that maintenance activities within the facilities are well-organised, scheduled, and executed efficiently through the management of Shift Engineering teams utilising the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the shift engineering team to create a culture which ensures that people are kept safe, engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential

- Monitor and control the engineering department's costs including negotiating purchase prices with vendors or external contractors as well as internal control of labour costs and overtime
- Implement processes and procedures which will deliver legislative, Food Safety, and Health and Safety compliance for the site, and consistency in ways of working across all areas and verify their implementation and compliance using periodic audits.
- Develop, train and optimise the use of CMMS for maintenance planning and Standard Maintenance Procedures using data analysis and problem solving methodologies to help define preventative maintenance strategy and stock holding.
- Ensure the upkeep of detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, equipment history, drawings and manuals on Pirana to support data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation.
- Contribute to the site engineering management team as liaison between maintenance teams, management, and other relevant departments to ensure engineering solutions support delivery of the business plans.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Preferably Relevant degree calibre (e.g. BEng or equivalent) / Member of recognised professional body – IET/IMech E, ICT/Institute of Mechanical Engineering
- Proven track record of people management in an engineering environment
- Previous experience in a maintenance/fault finding role or in technical inventory management.
- In-depth experience in the set-up and use of CMMS based systems.
- Knowledge of TPM principles highly desirable.
- Ability to negotiate/ challenge suppliers to add value.
- Ability to control costs.
- Able to demonstrate an engineering aptitude.
- Ability to work unsupervised
