Role Overview
A Domiciliary Carer at Artek provides personal care and daily living support to individuals in their own homes. The role focuses on promoting dignity, independence, and a high standard of compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support with mobility, physical assistance, and safe movement.
- Prepare meals and support clients with eating and hydration.
- Help with medication reminders (as per care plan).
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with light household tasks, cleaning, and laundry.
- Support clients with appointments, shopping, and community activities.
- Monitor client well-being and report any concerns to the Artek care team.
- Maintain accurate records and follow Artek's care procedures.
- Ensure dignity, respect, and confidentiality always.
Skills Required
- Caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Good communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time well.
- Understanding of personal care, hygiene, and safety practices.
- Reliability and commitment to the role.
Qualifications
- No formal degree required.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (preferred).
- Previous experience in care giving is an advantage but not essential.
- Must pass background checks and training requirements.
