The George Pub, situated in Cullingworth is a beautiful country pub serving great food and beverages 7 days a week from 12pm. We are latest edition to the village and with over £1m invested the George is a beautiful place to both work and visit.

We're experiencing growth across the business and we have just launched our new menu and as such we are seeking an experienced Chef to join us in supporting our busy kitchen and delighting our loyal customers.

As a chef employed by The George you will be required to follow and manage best practices to ensure compliance with company and governmental guidelines, to ensure your role is carried out professionally and to the highest of standards.

You will support the Head Chef and the kitchen team with cooking and developing the menu, working with all team members to ensure timely and accurate service and acting as a manager in the absence of the Head Chef covering for days off and annual leave.

Relevant qualifications – Food Hygiene Level 2 is a minimum requirement, Level 3 is preferred. Experience working in team and leading service essential to apply for this role. Working hours are 45 hours per week with a one hour break per day. Shifts are on a rota basis working typically 5 days over 7 with 28 days holidays and a competitive salary.

There is free parking on site, company pension scheme and no early starts before 9:30am.

As a Chef you are required to

· Assist managing the team (up to 5 people) and support the Head Chef with the kitchen rota

· Assist in placing orders with suppliers and ensuring enough stock is available to deliver the menu in line with demand

· Prepare, cook and present food from all menus both quickly and accurately

· Assist in creating and implementing new menu ideas and specials

· Act in accordance with health and safety rules and regulations as found in S.F.B.B and ensure completion of the S.F.B.B paperwork ready for inspection

· Ensure correct management of stock and resources

· Maintain all kitchen equipment and report and damage or faults to your senior management team

· Use products provided by the company in the correct manner

· Complete all relevant tasks as directed by the Head Chef

· Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas reporting any problems or issues to management

· Ensure you are up to date with all company guidelines and food handling guidelines to deliver your role to the best of your ability

· Support other staff members to ensure standards remain high.

· Ensure correct personal hygiene practices are always followed

· Use equipment and products in the correct manner to ensure cost effectiveness and profitability.

· Open and shut down the kitchen correctly ensuring all equipment is correctly on or off, food is stored correctly, and kitchen is ready for use.
