We are now hiring for a
Labourer/Driver
to join the team in
Dumfries, Scotland.
join our busy engineering workshop. This role involves supporting day-to-day workshop operations, assisting engineers, and carrying out driving duties as required. It is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and can adapt to a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general workshop duties, including basic cleaning and upkeep, organising materials, and supporting fabrication and engineering activities.
  • Safely load, unload, and move raw materials, jobs, tools, and equipment.
  • Carry out deliveries and collections using company vehicles.
  • Perform building and workshop maintenance tasks as required.
  • Support the engineering team with additional tasks where and when needed.

Person Specification:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (or relevant regional equivalent).
  • Previous labouring or workshop experience preferred but not essential.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual work.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent timekeeping.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn Training (preferred but not essential — will be provided):
  • Forklift training
  • Slinging and lifting training
  • Overhead crane training

Salary & Benefits:

We are renowned for our repair and maintenance service offering, providing a range of on- and off-site services, including maintenance service programmes, fitting work around shutdown windows and quieter periods to minimise disruption to the client's operations.

We work with clients to provide bespoke design solutions with a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers working from an extensive site, including a fabrication shop, metalwork, milling, lathe, roller and compressor equipment. Our business is approved for welding and specialises in fabricating steelwork, tanks, vessels, pipework and machinery.

Our services include engineering design and solutions, fabrication, machining, milling, turning and grinding and using computer-aided design (CAD), 2D drawing and 3D modelling. We work with clients to understand requirements and to solve problems, offering appropriate solutions
