We're looking for a Shift Engineer to join our team in, Spalding.
To effectively manage all aspects of maintenance and engineering operations during your shift. Responding to breakdowns, completing preventative maintenance tasks and ensuring all departmental procedures are followed to ensure that all operational key performance indicators are achieved, whilst complying with Company Policy and Procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and the Permit to Work/Enter system
  • Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and take responsibility for the management of health and safety for engineering staff and contractors
  • Promote a safety-first culture by supporting behavioural awareness initiatives to reduce accidents and near misses
  • Apply and enforce Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), including "clean as you go" principles and adherence to SOP's
  • Maintain a strong understanding of site Hygiene, Technical, QA, and Health & Safety requirements
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks in line with the master schedule to ensure equipment reliability and performance
  • Use data and available technology to support predictive maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing quality, safety, efficiency, and reducing waste
  • Collaborate effectively with Hygiene, Technical, Manufacturing, and CI teams to support efficient shift operations
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with Engineering, Planning, and Manufacturing teams to ensure tasks are completed on time and with minimal disruption

Requirements
Experience we look for:
Essential

  • NVQ 3 in Engineering Discipline or above
  • Food Industry experience, with experience within FMCG an advantage
  • High Care working is advantageous

Desirable

  • A positive attitude, open to change, a proactive approach and a passionate attitude to success
  • A positive and flexible approach to ongoing training
  • A self-motivated individual with adherence to high standards and continuous improvement
  • An excellent time manager with an adaptable and flexible approach
  • Able to understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Inherent understanding of site hygiene, technical, QA and Health & Safety requirements
