Domestic

RESPONSIBLE TO: Care manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION–

To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness within the home & ensure safe working practices are followed.

MAIN DUTIES –

  • the polishing, sweeping, vacuuming & cleaning and deep cleaning of all client occupied areas to include bedrooms, en-suites
  • the vacuuming/sweeping/mopping of corridors, stairs, lifts and dusting of picture frames, dado rails & door frames, skirting boards, banister rails etc
  • the cleaning & deep cleaning of toilets/area and bathing/showering facilities including sweeping & mopping floors
  • the cleaning and deep cleaning of areas above height level with the use of low step ladders
  • the cleaning of spillage's that may include bodily fluids
  • the cleaning of office and reception areas as required or requested
  • the cleaning & deep cleaning of communal areas required or requested
  • the undertaking of any other reasonable duties as required by the person in charge
  • Stock control and ordering
  • Keep working equipment clean and stored as per requirements
  • Follow Infection Prevention and Control policies and practices
  • Complete all required training in house, mandatory and online modules
  • Work to Health & Safety practices and protocols following company policies and handbooks.

All the above duties to be undertaken in line with a cleaning schedule.

These duties require the use of electric machinery and various cleaning materials/substances controlled by C.O.S.H.H. The post holder must therefore ensure that he/she is familiar with the operation of such machinery and have knowledge of the cleaning substances used.

Appropriate in-house training will be provided by the deputy manager or nominated person. Outside training will also be required for such training as C.O.S.H.H, health and safety, manual handling etc.

In addition to these duties listed above it may be necessary to perform other duties not listed, consideration will be given to your skills and status when requesting you to perform these duties.
