Technical Fire Safety Manager (FE, MIFireE)
. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fire safety professional to play a key role within a progressive and safety-focused organisation.
As
Technical Fire Safety Manager
, you will work as part of the wider
Health & Safety Team
, leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of fire and building safety strategies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive fire and building safety strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Act as the organisation's
subject matter expert
on fire and building safety legislation, providing authoritative guidance to senior management and colleagues. - Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory requirements, including the
Fire (Scotland) Act
,
Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations
,
Building (Scotland) Act
, and
Building (Scotland) Regulations
. - Oversee the management of fire safety systems, audits, and risk assessments to promote a robust culture of safety and compliance.
- Provide technical advice and support on fire engineering solutions, fire risk management, and building safety design considerations.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors, and emergency services.

- Proven leadership and teamworking capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of fire safety systems, building regulations, and associated compliance frameworks.
- Confident in interpreting technical drawings, reports, and fire strategy documents.
- Experience managing compliance systems and databases.
- High level of attention to detail and a strong safety-first mindset.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- HND or higher
in one of the following disciplines: Fire Engineering, Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. - Professional memberships
such as
IFE
,
MIFireE
,
CABE
, or
RICS
. - Demonstrable experience in managing fire and building safety across
complex or multi-occupancy buildings
. - In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including
Non-Domestic Technical Standards

British Standards

Building Safety Standards

Fire Safety Standards
.
