A well-regarded secondary school in Newport is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality teaching across KS3 and KS4, within a supportive and forward-thinking Science faculty.

We are working in close partnership with the school to appoint a teacher who has a strong subject background, excellent classroom management, and a passion for inspiring young people in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare and assess engaging and academically challenging work.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, moderation and enrichment activities.
  • Use data to track progress and support pupils in achieving their full potential.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.

About You

Applicants should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT completing teacher training.
  • Have strong subject knowledge in Science and confidence delivering across KS3–KS4.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and effective behaviour strategies.
  • Show commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and professional standards.
  • Bring enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
