About The Role
As a locum Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS, you'll play a vital role in supporting young people with complex mental health needs. Your responsibilities may include:

• Conducting psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Developing and overseeing treatment plans
• Working closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams
• Providing clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff

This post is for a Consultant RC responsibility for 5-6 patients in the unit and MUST have Section 12 and AC Status. CVs received that do not have S12 and AC will be deleted.Work with staff (nursing, psychology, OT, junior medic) to oversee treatment plan for patients upon admission. Experience of working with teams, preferably inpatient teams. TO review above patients at least once a week in person, prescribe and monitor appropriate medication, chair MDT meetings weekly to make sure care plan and risk assessments are accurately recorded and flexible to adapt them with the team.
Essential
What We're Looking For

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Section 12/Section 22 and Approved/Responsible Clinician status (or eligibility)
• A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
• Experience working in CAMHS or paediatric mental health settings
• UK Right to Work
• A child-centred, collaborative, and flexible approach

Desirable

• CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or within 6 months of achieving it)
