Job Overview

Floormart is a family run business operating in Leicester, we sell wide variety of flooring and tools through both our website and our trade counter. Due to rapid growth in the company, we are looking for a new sales assistant to join our team.

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Trade Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support sales by assisting customers both on the phone and email, and within our trade counter.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position is perfect for those eager to contribute to a friendly, professional team while gaining valuable experience.

Duties

  • Assist with merchandising displays and product organisation to optimise sales presentation
  • Support the sales team in engaging with customers, providing product information, and upselling where appropriate
  • Handle customer enquiries via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Help keep our sales inbox up to date
  • Maintain organised stock levels and ensure the store or display area remains tidy and accessible
  • Support the team in managing inventory records and processing transactions accurately using basic maths skills
  • Provide expert knowledge on our product portfolio.
  • Contribute to organising promotional events or campaigns, ensuring timely execution
  • Assist in managing time efficiently to meet daily targets and organisational deadlines

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English;
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory counts
  • Experience or interest in merchandising, retail, or customer service is advantageous
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required
  • Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of presentation and customer service
