Required - Female Support Workers, based in a loving family home in Ditchling

We are seeking Female Support Workers* to join a dedicated team supporting a delightful young adult, Sofia, in her family home in Ditchling Village. You will work 1:1 / 2:1 with our client and receive support and supervision from our management team. We are a CQC regulated company, providing care and support for people with complex needs.

Please note: you will need to have your transport as there is no public transport available near to Sofia's home.

Sofia is a bright, cheerful 21-year-old who lives with her family. She has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and upper respiratory issues, and requires a high level of support in her daily life. Sofia is non-verbal, but is able to communicate her needs in other ways. Despite her complex needs, Sofia enjoys music, spending time with her family, and spending time with others. She thrives in a positive, supportive environment.

Sofia is:

  • PEG-fed for nutrition and medication
  • Supported with suctioning when needed
  • Hoisted for all transfers

Your Role:

  • Provide full personal care support for Sofia, and support her well-being
  • Administration of Sofia's medication (via PEG)
  • Support Sofia with her regular therapeutic regime, and give her fun opportunities
  • Maintain a clean and safe home environment
  • Work closely with the family, therapists and healthcare professionals
  • Willingness to undertake specialist training from nurses and therapists

Experience and skills:

  • Essential: Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Desirable: Knowledge of PEG feeding and hoist use (training will be provided)

Terms, Hours and Pay

The hours which are available are:

Week 1

  • Friday 08:00 – 18:00 (10 hours)
  • Saturday: 10:00 – 20:00 (10 hours)

Week 2

  • Tuesday: 08:00 – 18:00 (10 hours)
  • Friday: 08:00 – 18:00 (10 hours)
  • Saturday: 10:00 – 20:00 (10 hours)

Pay:

  • Weekdays - £16.00 per hour
  • Weekends - £18.00 per hour

Conditions:

  • You will need to hold a full UK (or equivalent) driving licence, and be comfortable and confident in driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
  • You must have your own vehicle in which to travel to and from work.
  • This post would be offered subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and two references being undertaken.

*Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
